Chakras what are they?

Chakra is an indian sanskrit word for “wheel of energy” or energy vortex. We have 7 such energy wheels running in a central line down the centre of our physical body. They run through our physical body and into our etheric body or Aura. When you receive any energy healing such as Reiki, the healer works with these energy doorways into the physical body through the Aura to heal you on mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual level or your Mind, Body, & Spirit.

any of our 7 major energy centres are blocked with dis-eased energy, or off line…illness can enter our aura and eventually our physical body – hence the need to ensure that these energy centres remain balanced, clear of dis-eased energy and working at their optimum levels.

The seven major energy centres or Chakras are:

The Base chakra located at the Base of the Spine and this governs our security, our basic instincts for survival.

The Sacral chakra is located just below the navel and governs our sexuality, creativity and drive.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the navel – this is our energy power house where we store all our surplus energy for use in emergency, our flight or fight energy.

The Heart Chakra is located in the centre of the chest – and governs our emotions and relationships our ability to receive and give love.

The Throat chakra is located in the throat area - governs our communication and ability to speak our truth.

The Third Eye chakra is located in the centre of the forehead just above the eyebrows – it is the home of our intuition and psychic abilities.

The Crown Chakra is located just above the top of the centre of the head and is our spiritual connection to the Divine.

Each chakra is also connected on a physical level to the endocrine system and so affects every organ in our body. If our heart centre is blocked our physical heart will be affected and dis-ease can enter.

It is so important to recognise how necessary it is to keep our energy body healthy and this can be achieved in a number of ways, one of which is to wear jewellery that balances our chakras but also to have regular energy treatments such as Reiki done to keep your chakras balanced and healthy.
